Time moves at their pace
Sheltered under trees, our Tortoise Park is a place for quiet observation. Here, you encounter one of the world’s largest land tortoise species; steady, slow-moving creatures that invite you to reconnect with nature, patience and the unhurried rhythm of life.
The Aldabra species is a cousin of now-extinct native tortoises. In Chamarel, a dedicated nursery supports young individuals as part of long-term care and protection efforts.
A habitat made with care
The park is designed to reflect their natural environment: shaded, spacious and calm. Every element, from soil to shelter, supports their wellbeing and slow pace of life. Observation is welcome, always with quiet distance and respect.
An immersive experience.
Get up close to our giant tortoises called Toto, Tizean, Rosette, Nini, Tizom, Tifam, Tchaikovsky and Swarovsky - munching away their food, wandering at a leisurely pace or simply lazing about in their enclosure. A favourite among kids!
Tortoises are most active when it’s cool! Visit early or later in the day.
Our team cares for the tortoises daily with patience and expertise. Their knowledge ensures each animal's wellbeing while helping visitors understand how to respectfully share space with these gentle beings.
The Aldabra tortoise is one of the last remaining species of Indian Ocean giant tortoises still living in the wild.
Originally from Aldabra in the Seychelles, these tortoises can grow up to 1 meter in length and live over 150 years in average
Most tortoises are herbivores, feeding mainly on grasses, leafy greens, fruits and flowers
The tortoise shell is part of its skeleton. It is made of over 50 fused bones, including parts of the spine and ribcage
